R.I.P. Gary Larimer
Author: FCP901

I am only writing this as I am surprised this has not been posted, Gary Larimer from Barnesville, GA. has passed away due to a sudden massive heart attack. He was a precise, perfectionist at photographing train action primarilly within the Atlanta and Barnesville areas. He was one of the last holdout slide shooters left. I think I have traded slides with him for over 30 years. He used to work nights for the US Postal Service, so he could photograph trains during the day.  He was 57 years old, and is survived by his elderly parents. A very sad loss to the railfan community. Gary, you will be missed!

Yeah, real class act.  Honor somebody who stood by the tracks taking pictures, but no mention of the passing of a long-time employee who finally lost his long-running battle with cancer.

Ease up.  Gary was a very close friend of someone who can post on the NS FB page.
