Powered Crossover Question
Author: Cumberland

Are powered crossovers configured so that when the dispatcher changes both of the switches it is in sync, so that he/she only has to operate 1 switch/icon?

That's been the case since electro-mechanical interlocking machines were introduced.  On early GRS machines one pistol grip would be rigged to operate two slides.

"sync"....not sink.  A sink is what is in the kitchen/bathroom for water.  "sync means synchronized.

It was also the case for mechanical interlocking plants. One lever for both ends of a crossover was a common arrangement.

Wow! It seems like you would have to be a pretty strong person to manage that.

Not really, but it took knowing how to do it. I've also encountered single switches that were haarder to throw than a crossover.
