Eastern Railroad Discussion > Mertztown To Reading and back this weekend.Date: 05/01/16 10:47 Mertztown To Reading and back this weekend. Author: jim6300loco Had some interesting things here in Reading Company country this past weekend. On Friday the Southern heritage unit went west leading 15J. So I went to my last place of employment to get a picture of it going by Mertztown Station. I shot him in Mertztown, Then again at Bowers, where he ws held up for a few eastbounds to come up the single tracked Blandon low grade. Then I drove into the city of Reading where I heard the NS10N was setting off the former Lehigh & New England S-2 in Reading yard. on my way back out of the City 15 J was back on the move and i got the southern unit going by the smelly mushroon houses on the Blandon Low grade single track. Then this morning Beertrain and I went out and shot a few more trains on a rainy Sunday morning. Here are a few shots of the activity. by the way the LN&E is headed for the Allentown & Auburn where it will be restored for future operations.

Glad we now have a photo of it. In your photo #2 I see auto carriers in the distance. Are they part of the same train I see in the foreground? Can't understand the track arrangement there.
