It is signaled territory. I think that "Texas" from my memory, it absorbed a line called the Louisville, Henderson and Texas railroad. I know at one time the line was called the Louisville, Henderson, and St. Louis before being bought out by L&N. This line actually bisects some property my family owns. My late father told a story about the president of the railroad, Mr. R.N. Hudson having a hunting lodge lodge on property close to his Grandfather. I recall him saying that Mr. Hudson had a private siding and private car and he would go hunting with my Great Grandfather. He gave my Great Grandfather a pass to ride the train anytime he wanted. There was a private station and all my great Grandfather had to do was put up a flag and the train would stop. I recall dad saying that he was told this was in the days before "Aunt LN". |
