Eastern Railroad Discussion > Not your normal Wheeling consistsDate: 05/25/16 19:31 Not your normal Wheeling consists Author: Poker2662 I had a bit of luck today and managed to catch these two awesome consists on the W&LE. First is the 237 westbound at Church Road near Orrville, OH, with a five unit matching consist of GP35-3's 100 and 106, GP40-3 304, and SD40-3's 3048 and 3068. Unfortunately the clouds had rolled in a little while before the train got here.
Then later on down in Bolivar, what I believe was the 215 came through with SD40-2's 6311, 6353, and 6310, and SD40-3 3102. The sun had just barely started to peak out from the ridge of the clouds. Please take note that you should not come to railfan the W&LE expecting these matching consists. There are now more units in non-W&LE paint than in black and orange. There would typically be a hint of FURX green/silver and a dash of KCS grey in these consists, among other colors. Thanks for looking! Matt Date: 05/25/16 19:42 Re: Not your normal Wheeling consists Author: toledopatch The longest matched-set W&LE consist I've ever seen is three. Even those are very rare now.
