Happy Memorial Day, let's clean off the camera

May took me to Pittsburgh for work, caught a few trains inbetween work events.  Back home for the Southern Heritage Unit and wrapping up May nicely with Amtrak's Vet unit in town yesterday and today.

Up first an AVR local in the trench in Pittsburgh on 5/17.

Unknown CSX EB at Pittsburgh passing under one of the many bridges with a storm brewing on 5/17.

NS 11J at CP Wing on 5/16.

More from Pittsburgh.

NS C48 heads with 6348 heads out over the massive OC bridge on 5/19 at daybreak.

23M follows next on 5/19, still with fog over the river.

Little bit later, NS 580 with a CP trailing eases over the OC bridge.

Moving over to Leetsdale on 5/19 I am greeted with 42A and 14G racing eastbound.

Later 16N blasts under the EB PRR position lights at Leetsdale with a little color trailing.

Back home on 5/21 finds NS 8099 leading 349 at Selma, NC easing over the CSX A-line headed west.

Last two.  Tropical annoyance Bonnie dumping buckets on Amtrak 79 at Cary, NC on 5/29 with the Vet unit up front.

Today's return on 80 wasn't a whole lot better, but it's the Vet unit on Memorial day.  

Happy Memorial day to everyone.Thanks to those who gave their lives for our freedom and those who continue to serve!
