Whether that's a factor remains to be seen... My recollection is there is / was a lead from the south end of Enola which connects to the Lurgan line

If so, that would put the 48th car at the head of the derailed cars. (though not necessarily the first car to derail) Date: 05/31/16 17:34 Re: NS 13R on the ground in Harrisburg Author: VFPNSFAN Obviously this costs NS money. When events like this happen are those who are found to be responsible reprimanded, suspended, fired? Or are events like these considered cost of doing business, learn from mistakes, and try not to repeat in the future?

DISCLAIMER: This is my sarcastic response, but many would see it this way. It has been known to happen this way in the past. Date: 05/31/16 18:01 Re: NS 13R on the ground in Harrisburg Author: sscannella They can pull on 1 track from CP-HARRISBURG to CP-CAPITAL then change direction over the Reading Bridge. Would require power on both ends, and would only work providing the derailment isn't fouling the Lurgan Line at CP-FRONT ST. Doubt they would do this, I suspect everything will be cleaned up and back in service by tomorrow morning.

Date: 06/01/16 05:24 Re: NS 13R on the ground in Harrisburg Author: Princifer I am sure the train was violating trailing tonnage for that particular curve. 2400 tons in the timetable for Paxton to Front St on Main one

Thats just say that 13R has more responsibility now since NS abolished 37Q out of Enola....... Date: 06/01/16 15:43 Re: NS 13R on the ground in Harrisburg Author: Chooch There was an effort a few years ago when NS tried to install a turning WYE in Lemoyne that could have made getting to the Lurgan branch easier but the local Government nixed it.
