NS34A with a lot of different power@ Fleetwood, PA.
Author: jim6300loco

This morning The NS 34A was waiting in the shade on the east end of Fleetwood, PA for 3 hot inter modal frts to come up the Blandon low grade. We were waiting for them to pass so we could get shots of the NS4000 and the Honoring our Veterans unit. After the 3 hot trains they let the 34A continue west to go down the single track.. When he finally came out of the tree tunnel we  were surprised to see the train had a lot of engines on the head end.7 in all. I'm sure some of them were just in tow, because the engineer was not using all his power and his train was only an average length. about 80 cars.. Anyway one of the units  had a white cab. the number was hastly applied to the side. What gives with this?
Jim

Hard to believe but what you are looking at is an EMD cab on a GE product, HUH?

Jim:

NS Dash 8.5-40CW rebuild 8508 has a primered NS-designed RLS (Roanoke Locomotive Shop) cab.  The unit is headed for the NS Juniata Locomotive Shops in Altoona, PA for emissions testing and repainting.

Great consist.  I like the paint on the 4000.  Seems like they found a stash on old Conrail paint, and some Ballast Express paint from the C32-8 units.
