Pan Am POED arrives at E Deefield
Author: JPB

On Saturday, 8/27/16, the N&W Heritage locomotive was headed east on Mechanicville pulling the 28N autorack train. So I headed to Gardner, the train's likely initial yarding stop to drop Subarus for P&W. Upon arriving Gardner, the foamerazzis said 28N was parked for re-crew at Buckland, MA, some 55 miles west. We all raced off to the E Deerfield Yard, hoping to catch 28N passing the yard. But 28N was still tied down. Fortunately POED was kind enough to arrive and yard its train.

Once we observed the movement of POED power to the servicing tracks, it was off to Buckland where a steady stream of RFs stopped to get functional, proof of sighting photos.

Nice set of photos.  Ever wonder what we would do at E. Deerfield without the 'railfans bridge' ?
