Eastern Railroad Discussion > SD70I on CSXDate: 08/06/03 05:29 SD70I on CSX Author: saboja i just saw a csx i think it was 8744. it was a SD70I.
How many I do CSX own? Date: 08/06/03 05:36 Re: SD70I on CSX Author: mderrick Actually, 8744 would be an SD60I. The only SD70I\'s are owned by Canadian National, and there are only 25 I believe. 5600 series.
A great resource for CSX roster info is http://www.bullsheet.com. Even has info on what paint scheme the unit wears. Mike Derrick http://www.shortlinesusa.com Date: 08/06/03 08:22 Re: SD70I on CSX Author: saboja OOOOOOOOO, i must have miss read the # as it was flying by :-)
thanks for the correction, and i had no idea they made sd60I units. this is why i love this site... most the time :-) Jeff Date: 08/06/03 13:41 Re: SD70I on CSX Author: soo6617 CSX does have 25 SD70M, Supercabs but without the Isolated cab. They purchased the three EMD demos
7000 - 7002, plus the 22 EMD leasers 7003 - 7024. Date: 08/06/03 14:02 Re: SD60I on CSX Author: toledopatch Conrail was the only railroad to take delivery of SD60I\'s. Conrail 5544 was the first one -- it demonstrated the Isolated Cab concept. I\'m not sure when the production SD60I\'s started, but there were more SD60Ms delivered to Conrail between the 5544 and the first SD60I. Externally, I was never able to tell the difference.
As with everything else on the Conrail roster, the SD60I fleet was divided to CSX and NS on June 1, 1999. |
