Date: 12/04/16 22:34 Re: New GE Power for NS in 2017 Author: DuneCoon The first Dash 9 DC to AC rebuild is also underway in Fort Worth. NS 8811 was the donor and it should be finished sometime in 2017. More conversions will happen as 2017 progresses.

More conversions will happen as 2017 progresses. NS is planning 57 additional AC44C6M units (NS 4018-4074) to be rebuilt from NS Dash 9-40C's for 2017. Of those, 25 (4018-4042) will be rebuilt by GE at its Ft. Worth, TX plant; 10 (4043-4052) will be rebuilt at the NS Roanoke Locomotive Shop in Roanoke, VA; and 22 (4053-4074) will be rebuilt at the NS Juniata Locomotive Shop in Altoona, PA. Dash 9-40C's 8775, 8788, 8805, 8811, 8851, 8859, 8875, 8881 and 8888 have already been retired. Of those, 8775, 8811 and 8875 are at GE - Ft. Worth for rebuilding as NS 4018, 4019 and 4026; 8805 and 8851 are at Roanoke being rebuilt as 4043 and 4044; and 8881, 8775, 8859, and 8888 are at Altoona for rebuilding as 4053-4056. My full roster of the existing NS AC44C6M rebuilds, as well as the latest on the 2017 units can be found here: http://www.nsdash9.com/rosters/4000.html Chris Toth NSDash9.com Date: 12/05/16 07:08 Re: New GE Power for NS in 2017 Author: srman Date: 12/05/16 07:49 Re: New GE Power for NS in 2017 Author: NKP715 I had thought (mistakenly) that there could be no additional Tier 4 Credit Units
beyond 2016. What are the "terms and conditions" that allow these credits to continue, and for how long ? Date: 12/05/16 08:51 Re: New GE Power for NS in 2017 Author: NYSWSD70M Hopefully the last person in Erie will turn out the lights. Sad!

Again, sad days in Erie. Date: 12/05/16 16:06 Re: New GE Power for NS in 2017 Author: DuneCoon There isn't necessary a limit on credit units. When you combine distributed power and an energy management system (Trip Optimizer or LEADER), every Tier 4 emissions certified unit sold can result in an emissions credit unit sold.
It's not only Pakistan units rolling through Erie. The first CSX Dash 8 DC to DC rebuild was completed with 9 more in the works. DC Date: 12/05/16 16:42 Re: New GE Power for NS in 2017 Author: upbuddyboy Anyone know why the links don't open on my new iPhone 7? I get a blank (warning) page. Thx

Larry Date: 12/06/16 12:21 Re: New GE Power for NS in 2017 Author: SCL1517 Does anybody know any more about this rebuilding of former CSX C40-8's? Are they going back to CSX? What's involved in the rebuild?
Thanks for any info! Date: 12/24/16 17:34 Re: New GE Power for NS in 2017 Author: NS19K The CSX units are being rebuilt as DC units just like they went in. The difference is they are receiving Evolution Series software making them,in effect, Dash 8 Gevo's. I would figure a cab upgrade would be performed too. Perhaps someone else could explain it better but that's all I know.
