Eastern Railroad Discussion > New Perspective on Ten BridgeDate: 12/08/16 04:05 New Perspective on Ten Bridge Author: livefastjohnny Tried a new spot just south of the bridge yesterday in the Chattanooga Riverpark and was able to get this one. I kind of liked how it looked like the stairs were going straight to the locomotive.
Date: 12/08/16 04:25 Re: New Perspective on Ten Bridge Author: richs What purpose do the steps provide? I saw steps like this near Vermilion Ohio a few years ago, upon climbing them I was on the ROW. Nice picture.
RichS Date: 12/08/16 04:32 Re: New Perspective on Ten Bridge Author: livefastjohnny These steps also lead directly to the ROW. Because the embankment is so steep and loose, my guess is that they are a safe way down to ground level if a crew outlawed or otherwise needed to leave the train.

You're probably correct. This gave me the incentive to find the 3 I took in Vermilion. rich Date: 12/08/16 07:50 Re: New Perspective on Ten Bridge Author: Cliffs619 Maybe the steps are there for railfans to access the track for photos.
