Brian Stevens Date: 02/08/17 18:25 Re: Above NRE Mt. Vernon Author: DrLoco Wow--they wasted no time on that NHN Geep--It was at Avon, In on jan 15 in tow west. I wonder if it's a rebuild in kind or if it went to scrap? It looked to be in pretty good shape, inside and out, really.

Date: 02/08/17 20:30 Re: Above NRE Mt. Vernon Author: bogieman I only see one F69PH-AC carbody. Is the second one there too somewhere or anyone know what happened to it? I was at NRE in 2006 and both were there at that time, IIRC. In 2001 I tried to buy one back from NRE for a project but their price was more than the project budget would allow.
Dave Date: 02/08/17 21:26 Re: Above NRE Mt. Vernon Author: railcity Looks like alot of engines should go steel mill to be melted down into New Steel.

Large shop and inside that shop bldg. You can see it when you go by. Ben Date: 02/10/17 15:42 Re: Above NRE Mt. Vernon Author: bogieman Thanks Ben. I'd be really supprised if they ever find a buyer or a use for them. Thirty years ago I designed the modifications to the swing hanger trucks on these locomotives which makes them really unique and useless for almost all other applications.
