Train Left Bellevue Was 310 With NS OLS 9256 With MEC 3401 Photos
Author: cornerfieldhobby

I got a message from someone stating there was a train that departed Bellevue eastbound headed towards Cleveland at 5:05PM. I see 4005 arrived on 14Q in Bellvue at 4:45PM. Would that be 4005 already leading out of Bellevue already and if so, what train did he go out on, 28N or something else?

Well the mystery train that left Bellevue wasn't a mystery at all. It was NS Operation Lifesaver C44-9W #9256 leading 310 with MEC Pan Am Railways SD40-2 #3401 trailing 3rd. The SD70ACe and MEC are the same units I saw this past Sunday in Mentor also - http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?2,4252312    Anyway, he came through Mentor this evening at 6:43PM. Well dispatch was talking to him and he had a 25MPH speed restriction near Painesville. So I drove the speed limit to west of Madison Ohio and caught him there at 7:14PM in nice sunset at about 35MPH.

Any train departing 20 minutes after #14Q went by the Bellevue webcam would already have power on it before #14Q was in town. So no, this mystery train does not have the 4005 on it, I guarantee. We're not talking about a toy train set here where you just uncouple an engine from one train and slap it on another and off she goes.

I am sure the power needs a refuel and it is at the diesel shop.    You can see the shop from route 4.   Didn't you catch the other H units in the area?  When you see double stack and van trains with special units leading, most likely you will see them on a somewhat predictible schedule.

No, I had things to do this late morning and early afternoon. I just posted this morning because I started the topic so other people could reply. Anyway, here's the next photos from just west of Madison.
