This is the first reference I've heard to "C40-8WM" as well. Are the engines actually marked with that designation? Date: 04/06/17 14:17 Re: CSX C40-8WM Author: rhmich Just saw another one of the new units worked on at GE Erie, 7787, and this was was stenciled CM40-8. I was told that this is what CSX is calling them in their system, even though GE is calling them something different, (8-40CWM)

(I don't know why the URL has AC44C6M in it; they're basically fully rebuilt C40-8Ws...) http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?2,4203778 Date: 04/06/17 17:10 Re: CSX C40-8WM Author: shadetree Not split cooling radiators. They are shutters to help more accurately control the engine temperature. This mod is part of an em missions upgrade.
Eng.Shadetree Date: 04/06/17 17:28 Re: CSX C40-8WM Author: ERAD They also got rid of the desktop control stand and -8 computer panel. Replacing them with Gevo components.

The CSX units do get a serious control system upgrade that brings them to today's standards that is very similar to the system used in the Evolution Series.
