The only changes done to these are the installation of PTC equipment.

AFAIK, the radiator changes have been around for a few years now.

This is the first reference I've heard to "C40-8WM" as well. Are the engines actually marked with that designation?

Just saw another one of the new units worked on at  GE Erie,    7787,  and this was was stenciled CM40-8.   I was told that this is what CSX  is calling them in their system,  even though GE is calling them something different,  (8-40CWM)

(I don't know why the URL has AC44C6M in it; they're basically fully rebuilt C40-8Ws...)

Not split cooling radiators.  They are shutters to help more accurately control the engine temperature.  This mod is part of an em missions upgrade.

They also got rid of the desktop control stand and -8 computer panel. Replacing them with Gevo components.

The units retain their FDL prime movers so there are no GEVO prime mover components. The CSX units do get a serious control system upgrade that brings them to today's standards that is very similar to the system used in the Evolution Series.

So above the Radiators on top of the unit, that taller part are shutters? I heard they were screens, but I could be wrong as well.
