NS 562 on Keystone Branch
Author: nkp746

Luckily it is slow at work today...heard a 562 (loaded coal) was nearing Saltsburg, PA on the NS Conemaugh Line so I decided to head over and catch it. After a quick move at CP Salts adding helpers the train headed north to the Keystone Generating Plant in Shelocta, PA. I chased it all the way, getting video at several spots. Here is a brief view at a couple of locations.

The fisherman are out in full force today! Normally I don't see another soul out along the Keystone; today people were everywhere.

I'd say nice catch, but you didn't include shots of the fisherman.

Yes- the "new" part is north from Saltsburg, PA (the connection with the Conemaugh Line at CP Salts) up to Clarksburg, PA. From there the line is the rebuilt B&O (BR&P) line up to Shelocta. The line from Shelocta over to Creekside, PA and the junction with the B&P Indiana Branch appears to be out of service.
