Eastern Railroad Discussion > Pan Am 287 Shuffling off to Bellevue...Date: 05/20/17 04:13 Pan Am 287 Shuffling off to Bellevue... Author: JPB It's 0730 on Friday 5/19/17 and Pan Am Southern 287 (empty auto racks) is prepping to launch westward out of the morning sun at the "Sanvel" auto unload facility on the Ayer-Littleton border. About 30 minutes later, 287 rumbles through the Ayer T station on main 1 with its 11 racks and passes EDPO (main 2) arriving to pick-up local AY-1's 40 car block (Camp track). At 0915, 287 charges up the grade at Wachusett past the new MBTA station - next stop is Gardner where it will pick up 17 more racks from Davisville RI that P&W's Worcester switcher deposited.
And finally at 0700 this morning 5/20/17, 287/BNSF has arrived Binghamton (presumably with additional racks acquired at Mechanicville) for a re-crew before continuing its trek on the NS Southern Tier ex-Erie line to Buffalo and then ex-NKP to Bellevue.
