LV on 518
Author: nkp746

According to HU site, the LV unit (NS 8104) is trailing 3/3 on a 518 coal train. This will likely mean the LV unit will "lead" going up the BIT to the coal unloader. The 518 may be in Blairsville now, I am going to swing into town as soon as I can get away from the plant.

If (that is a big if...)things go as I have seen them, this crew will place the LV unit on the BIT, then set the first cut of loaded cars and take the train up to the crossing in Blairsville. The train will then usually wait for a new crew and head to the unloader. So later today and even into tomorrow there is a very good chance to see the LV unit up close and moving slowly- for those so inclined.

UPDATE: As of 3:45pm it appears the crew has departed. Not sure when the next crew will arrive to begin unloading. But, looks like a bit of rain is heading this way so hopefully tomorrow has better weather. I was able to grab some quick shots during a break in the downpours!

Rob, that's my favorite photos so far I've seen you take of 8104. Great photos.
