Yesterday my grandchildren and family enjoyed a beautiful Sunday in Jim Thrope PA and train ride on the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway following the Lehigh River thru Glen Onoko and into the Lehigh Gorge State Park along side of high rock cliffs on one side and the roaring white cap Lehigh River on the other side. Great mountain views up to Old Penn Haven before returning to historic Jim Thrope.
Reading and Northern rebuilt GP39U 2532 locomotive (built 2/1963 as ATSF GP30 1245) was used to power the train.

I rode that train last July 4th weekend, first time for me. And well worth the trip. I highly suggest that everyone must come and ride the train.

I agree, always enjoy my visits there.
