Train Time in Rutland, VT
Author: cinder

1&2. The sun has set as the northbound "Ethan Allen Express" eases around a sharp curve approaching its final stop at 8:30 pm on July 10.
3. A light rain bathes the southbound Ethan Allen at 8:15 am the next morning after the train has spent the night in Rutland. This scene is about two miles west of the depot.

4&5. A Vermont Railway freight prepares to leave for Whitehall, NY after the arrival of Amtrak on the evening of July 10.

What are the daily freight movements in and out of Rutland?

This is what I have:
Day turn to Bellows Falls, works Mon-Sat.
Overnight turn to Whitehall
Turn job to North Bennington, I think is five/days/week in daylight, but I'm not certain.

I believe there is still a Middlebury turn job out of Rutland but not sure when it runs.

Isn't there also a loaded unit slurry train from Florence that gets delivered to PAS at Bellows Falls on Fridays?
Or does what becomes Pan Am's BFPO train get assembled with cars from multiple weekday Florence to Rutland and Rutland to BF trains prior to Friday?

Yes. Sundays as needed.

As for the slurry train, that traffic is now moved on GMRC 263, which is running on Saturdays again. (The slurry had been a Saturday-only extra when 263/264 were Mon-Fri.) At Bellows Falls it gets handed off to Pan Am and becomes BFPO.
