A colorful Q410, and a few others...
Author: Railfan94

While things have been relatively calm over the past week, there's one train that everyone wanted; Q410-15.

We'll start though a few days ago, back on the 11th. With over 11,000 feet of train, Q416 was in emergency again ahead of hopper train E743. Said train is seen here rolling on an approach signal at Jones' Crossing (Top of the hill), coming to a stop at Guinea.

An on time P053 is passing a nearly 5 hour late P092 at Guinea.

With 416 taking longer than expected to clear up, the decision was made, and P092 shoved their train nearly 10 miles to Milford, where they would go around the disabled freight. Seen here at Woodford is 92 shoving back, with Conductor Reggie on the rear, "Protecting the Shove".

After everything was cleared up, I went north of Fredericksburg to Dahlgren Junction and shot both 416 and E743 again. After that, I hung around, and regional train 93 featured the 156 leading.

Since the symbol changed, this is the first time I've shot the Sealston trash train. Now running under the ID B732, they are about to blast off from DJ.

It's a lovely July 13 morning, and VRE train P312 is departing Fredericksburg with a nearly perfect reflection on the Rappahannock.

Shortly after P312 rolled across, a slightly late Q032 came north with a still near perfect reflection in the river.

Hearing the local head to Crossroads, I decided to ride down there and catch him switching out CMC Rebar. Seen here shoving into the siding, GP40-2 #4418 has the honors as the humidity and temperature were climbing rather quick.

And after leaving Crossroads, D793 cut away from their cars and headed down the Massaponax Branch to pick up one car from Culpeper Wood.

Now, to the money train. July 16, we started in Ashland, stopped at Doswell for a shot, and finished at Guinea. These shots are out of time order, but in the order I like them!

First up is the money shot from the "chase". We arrived at Guinea just minutes before 410 did, and the light was just so perfect. Full power was
CSX ES44AH #750
CP AC4400 #9638
BNSF ES44DC #7558
BNSF GP38-2 #2217 in H1 Paint.

The second shot is in Doswell, with a whole lot of fallen flag railroads represented in one photo. Between the BB power, the BNSF GP38, and the gondola, I found the following:

BB GP38-2's #14 and #16
Ex Norfolk Southern
Built Southern

BB GP16 #3
Ex CSX
Exx Seaboard
Built Charleston & Western Carolina Railway GP7 #203

BNSF #2217
Built ATSF #3528

PC Gondola #598585
Ex Conrail
Built for PC

The final shot is a well lit roster shot of the #2217 in Ashland, which is rumored to be headed to the LTEX Boneyard...

Hope All Enjoy!

Your two reflection images are so beautiful, they look like they could be a travel poster.

I saw the Q410-15 while eating dinner at Tim's crabhouse in Dumfries that evening. No idea it was coming and no pix though.
