Youtube now has access to live camera at Deshler Oh, in addition to several other locations. Is it my imagination that train frequency is way down? Even the last few times that I have been through in July I was surprised at how quiet things were and now watching the webcam seems to confirm my fears. What is up with the old B & O?

Less frequent, but, much longer trains.

Deshler is now averaging 55 trains in a 24-hour period.

Out of all the hotspots in Ohio, it seems Marion has the most trains these days.. Probably like 65-70.. May even be more then Fostoria now.. Remember when it saw over 100 in 24 hours??

Wow. I am guessing the B&O Deshler to Chicago is around 30 then?

That's correct.

With the S sections running on the Garrett sub train counts are running on either side of 50. You can count on a daily S392. Also some of the Cincinnati to Chicago traffic is still being ran daily through Deshler as S350 and S351 to avoid Indinapolis.

Watched Q507 the other day with the Middletown Slabs on the head end. Slabs use to run as a separate train each way.

Q148 now drags Q172's train from Chicago to North Baltimore, so they're combined.

CSX traffic in Ohio has just been extremely down over the past few months. I've been spending a lot of time over the local CSX routes around my area in Cleveland since EHH took office, mainly focusing on my typical stomping grounds on the Ex Conrail Indy Line between Berea and Greenwich. I'm aware that most of the traffic over this route is the same that runs through Deshler, so if I were to take an accurate guess of how many scheduled trains run over the Buffalo-Chicago Corridor, I'd estimate about 35-40 per day. Obviously no where near what it used to be a few years ago.

Q163 into Chicago tonight was 14,000 feet. It was lucky to maintain 35-40 mph with two units.
