Could Intermodal Trains Run North Jersey to Chicago With 3 Crews?

Good Morning:

Could a train run North Jersey to Chicago with 3 crews vs 4? Using NS as an example (since CSXT abolished long pools), could an Intermodal train depart Croxton, NJ and change crews in Altoona, PA, Toledo, OH, and terminate in Chicago? Just curious.
