It's Over - Finally Saw NS 8114 Last HU - In Orrville Ohio Today

Yes, it's finally over and I'm not meaning that in a bad way. This Heritage Unit has been a thorn in my side for 5 years now. But it's over now that I have seen Norfolk Southern Heritage Unit ES44AC #8114. This was my very last NS Heritage Unit I had to get to complete all 20 NS HU's I had to see. So thank you so much Carl, Dave, Harold, Walt, Nolan, Etc. for helping me for info in getting to see this unit and all the other 19 HU's.

Anyway, 8114 was leading NS loaded coal 776 and I decided to drive 1 hour & 30 minutes to get to Orrville. I arrived at 10:50AM and only waited 1 hour & 21 minutes for him to arrive. He passed the Orrville Depot museum at 12:11PM. The video you here a woman talking, is because there were 5 other people there to see 8114 go by as well. I didn't know them, but they were there to see it. So it was worth the trip down there to see 8114. I know some people might not like the video or photos because I wasn't on the correct side of the sun, but because I don't go to Orrville very often at all, I just set up to get the depot in some part of the photo and video. Reason the video is a little shaky is because I put my video camera on my lawn chair and the tripod leg on the metal fence post.

Bruce, yea I know probably a lot of people are saying the same thing. Because I caught it, I don't have to ask anymore. I have a lot of train people who relay me messages now.

That rail tower next to the station looks like it could be a very nice prop for rail operations. Is it of Pennsylvania Railroad heritage?

Congrats, I still need the Monongahela unit. Maybe someday I will not be travelling when it comes through town.

Russ, thank you very much. Yea, I know the 8025 has seemed to be a pain to get in the south. For me, I've seen it 3 times. But I am very glad you have seen 19 so far. I know quite a few railfans have 19 left to see. But I'm not bragging I saw it, I'm just very happy I got to complete my adventure of seeing all of them.

Nice score on the Seaboard System units in today's theead as well.

Russ, thanks about the Seaboard System unit. That was totally unexpected waiting on Q137 with the KCS GEVO leader.
