NS 39G running long hood forward

That is why NS is smart to have ditch lights on the long hood end to run track speed in situations like this.

Southern and N&W have been running long hood forward for century's with no problems with complaints of exhaust smoke

Go ask the crews about inhaling exhaust. I guarantee your comment will be challenged.
