Eastern Railroad Discussion > Four NS (AGS) questionsDate: 11/10/17 12:29 Four NS (AGS) questions Author: twropr Does NS 183 go towards Meridian or Mobile?
Do today's NS crews still refer to the line between Burstall and Mobile as the "3 B"? Does NS still run coal trains to/from Vance, AL? Does the same dispatcher that controls Chattanooga-Birmingham control Birmingham-Meridian-New Orleans? (I was amazed in 1975 when I visited the Southern Hattiesburg DS office and found just one chief and one train dispatcher handling everything Chattanooga-New Orleans). Thanks Andy Date: 11/10/17 12:44 Re: Four NS (AGS) questions Author: darkcloud .

I would say yes because that line is the 3B (North and South) District. Andrew Date: 11/10/17 16:08 Re: Four NS (AGS) questions Author: tncea Never had coal trains to/from Vance. There was nothing there, but a woodyard prior to Mercedes plant. AGS South dispatcher also is Birmingham Terminal dispatcher.
