Someone caught Q009 up west of Rochester NY today with CSX derated AC6000CW #5016 leading. Are the derated AC6000's coming back to service or is this the only one running?

There's 5015 out there running as well, but I'm not aware of any AC6000s re-entering service.

600 came by Collier today.

Is 600 in the original AC6000 paint or YN3 / YN3b today?

Sorry don't really remember.

A quick Google search of "CSX 600 Photos" will take you to RRPicture Archives, where
the last available photo shows it still in its original paint. That was as of November 2017, so,
it could have been repainted since. While it wouldn't make a lot of sense to repaint it,
this is CSX, and as we know with this outfit, anything's possible.

I really wish they didn't repaint it because with the YN2 version, makes it look so much better then the YN3. YN3 reminds me on this unit of being an ES44DC or AC. But one thing, the original AC6000CW's, still have their original distinctive K5LA.

I was just poking around the rrpicture site earlier on this same topic. A new picture of 602 (Spirit of Maryland) shows it repainted in the YN3b scheme. The "Spirit" lettering is still on it, in slightly different font. The unit looks stored.

Nitpicking....but they are not AC6000CW's. On CSX they were classed as CW60AC, and now they are CW44-6's They are rattletraps now, but they still got plenty of grunt down low where it counts.

GEs classification for them was AC6000CW.

They also have BEASTLY dynamics.

CW46AC now. CW44-6 was from the first time they were de-tuned.

Either way, AC6000CW is what GE calls them.

I know they're not an AC6000CW, their derated to C44-6CW. But they still use the same body as an AC6000.
