Eastern Railroad Discussion > So CSX has been doing a LOT of MoW on the North End Sub lately...Date: 02/18/18 06:07 So CSX has been doing a LOT of MoW on the North End Sub lately... Author: Totallamer ...and I've got a stupid question for anyone that knows MoW equipment. What's the difference between the regular-sized tampers you usually see in your average tamper/regulator pairing and the HUGE tampers that CSX shows up with sometimes in gangs? Don't see those very often.

Upper management thinks there great. More footage in a day. Quality of the job isn’t as good with a CAT either as they only hit the tie once. That leaves a void under the tie and track starts pumping sooner. It’s all about what looks better on paper to the managers.
