NS 4001 has been moved into the shop . It will take all of this year and part of next year to be ready for Active Service
NS , for now has stopped rebuilding D9’s-40C’s ! What’s left of the D9’s-40C are roaming around the NS system along with SD60 . In fact there is a SD60 Trailing on today’s 154 . So it good to see that NS is not storing there SD60. SD60 are probably 1 of NS oldest Locomotives and 1 that they should have atleast 2 more years .
NS has slowed down how many SD70 are getting rebuild
NS 2545 And 2539 are my Favorite SD70’s .
Catch the SD70 while you can . A few just went into be rebuilt this week . I saw NS 2513 today on the Altoona web cam . Leading a steel train . There are a few SD70 in various 117’s ... there Is also 2 SD60’s working as local power in Gainesville,GA ...
Also there was Fresh AC44C6M Leading a M54 today !

NS has not stopped rebuilding its Dash 9-40C's as AC44C6M's. There are currently 13 in various stages of rebuilding at the NS Roanoke and NS Juniata shops. See the AC44C6M roster page for the units currently undergoing rebuilding:

The 32 Dash 9-40C's that remain in service will be rebuilt this year.
