Eastern Railroad Discussion > Location on the MononDate: 04/16/18 14:31 Location on the Monon Author: bobwilcox This shot was taken of a southbound Amtrack train just south of Bloomington, IN on the L&N(Monon) in the winter of 1977-78. Does anyone recognize the train or location?

When I was an undergrad at I.U., I used to hike a considerable distance south of Bloomington along the tracks, often going well south of Clear Creek. I would have remembered a significant looking structure like that depicted in the shot here. I am not certain, but I don't recall seeing any location like this between Bloomington and Bedford. Of course, that section went back to nature some time ago.
