CSXT 297 leads a long train over the PRR Arsenal Bridge, next to the old Schuylkill Generating Station in Philadelphia, at twilight this evening.

In all the years i lived in Phila., I dont think I ever saw a train on the "Delaware Extension" as the PRR called it.   Another piece of PRR heavy engineering..from the bridge down to greenwich yard on a huge elevated fill.  Cant be more than a few trains a day heading down to Greenwich anymore?

It's not used as often as the former B&O bridge a bit to the south to the East Side yard, but it does see its share of traffic. For example, there were three movements in the couple hours I was in the area this evening. (Two train and one lite power move).

In 1959 - 1960 I had a good view of the 25th Street viaduct during a history class at Bishop Neumand High School.  There were always iron ore and coal trains pulled by GG1s and P5As during that hour.  Gerry
