NS OCS Train on its way east from Buffalo

Departed Bison Yard at around 0700. Somewhere OCS will meet an I3K double stack that passed the mp223 detector west of Johnson City at 0730. Also there's a heavy 310 with DPU heading east around Gang Mills but presumably it will get to Binghamton before ahead of the OCS but you never know.

Speeding along like the Phoebe Snow - expect to arrive Binghamton by 1100-1130 timeframe.

Into Binghamton a little before 1130. Swapped crews and headed north in short order.

Ran Buffalo to Binghamton in just under four and a half hours.

There's a photo from Thursday, 8-9-2018 on RP featuring the OCS at Richmondville, Massachusetts in daylight.

Anyone have the routing (and time(s) - expected) back to Altoona?

Richmondville, NY? NS OCS never made it to Massachusetts due to a second washout within one week on Pan Am Southern at Farley Rd, Erving MA that resulted in the cancellation of the Friday RT over PAS. As I type this at 0400 Friday, empty NS OCS 955 is somewhere around Scranton likely headed for Sunbury/Enola.

There are a lot of great photos and videos of  Thursday's eb 954 OCS train on the Southern Tier and D&H posted in various Facebook and Flickr web sites.

According to the June Official Guide, the eastbound Phoebe Snow running on an all DL&W routing would take 3 hours 53 minutes between its 0915 Buffalo departure and its 1308 arrival at Binghamton, with 8 intermediate stops.
But per the April 1966 EL timetable, the remaining eb passenger train on NS' ex-Erie Southern Tier route, #10 the "New York Mail", required 5 hours and 10 minutes to make the Buffalo to Binghamton run with 7 intermediate stops, one of them being a 15 minute pause.

So not a bad performance for the NS OCS (and a testament to the quality of the track work NS has invested in the Tier over the past several years).
