Classic Pennsy
Author: 611Doug

An ill-fated attempt to catch the Virginian Heritage Unit leading 23M on Thursday led to an even better result. Instead, I was able to shoot the PRR Heritage Unit leading 62V at two classic Pennsy locations.

1. 62V splits the intermediates at MP 151 in Port Royal, passing under the PA Rte. 75 road bridge.
2. After a mad dash, I made it to Duncannon with about 7 minutes to spare to catch 8102 crossing the stone arch bridge over Sherman's Creek.

That 1910 bridge frames the 8102 and the signal beautifully.

Beautiful! Always great to see the Heritage units on their home-represented previous road, and skilled cameraship! === === = === JLH

If you squint really hard at the first image it almost looks like a Balwin RF-16 Sharknose :)

Imagine if the PENNSY had survived, and the BROADWAY LIMITED was still running...that first photo is perfect, and makes it seem true!
