A question about Amtrak at this location.  Off to the left and behind me are 2 lines that split off towards MI.  Both saw Amtrak movements in the time I was there.  Does Amtrak use 2 different lines into MI from Chicago?:  Why?

One is the line to Detroit via the former NS and sees most of the Michigan Service trains. The other line goes to Grand Rapids via the CSX and sees one daily roundtrip.
