Living in Jax in the 1980s I often went to Callahan. Just south of the junction is a big curve under a highway bridge. At the time, the curve had a 60 mph limit. One of the BEST events there would be a norhbound intermodal behind a couple of big GEs roaring around the curve under the bridge and heading north at speed and blowing for the crossing...at every bit of the legal limit. Until then I'd always been an EMD loyalist, but those engines just impressed me. They also showed that CSX (and its immediate predecessors DID know how to run at least in some places.
