This video features Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern No. 805 (Alco C425 blt 10/64) in action this morning as it brings 3 empty bulkhead timber cars northward to Boonville, NY and on the return run south to Utica with 6 fully loaded timber cars in its train.

Amazing The K5H horn on that locomotive sounds as good as it did back in 1985 on the British Columbia Railway.

Nice posting!

Did that bridge have part of a siding on it or was that double track through there at one time?

It was double-tracked, not sure how far. Former St Lawrence Division, NY Central.

John, having recently flipped your calendar to "Crossing Woodhull Creek, Forestport" I am once again reminded of years ago back in your part of the country.  Nice videos of the log trains.

Great to see a shortline RR cruising along at a respectable track speed on a once major line.  And I really love seeing old RR bridges still in use--especially ones with great masonry abutments--classic scenes!
