I suggest railroadfan/CSXwiki for CSX symbols and http://www.jreb.org/ns/index.php?topic=11774.0 for NS symbols. http://www.nsdash9.com/roster.html covers NS locomotives. For railfan locations, go to http://www.gregariousrailfan.com/ and http://www.railfanguides.us/. Signal information can easily be found by searching "railroad signal indications" on Google.
