"It was a dark and stormy day...."

"...in the Allegheny Mts. of PA in January 2004."  Sleet and freezing rain at the lower elevations, but snow at Mance, Pa at 2,200'.  Foreign power was abundant on this winter day.

1. Eastbound and down ..... Count the engines.
2. Eastbound manifest is overtaken by eastbound Amtrak 30 at the site of the former "Mance Training Camp".
3. Westbound at the Mance road crossing.

5. Manifest meet.
6. Eastbound autorack led by leasers.

10. Eastbound P030 at the former "MTC".

All these pictures were taken in low light with a cheap digital camera; thus some colorful pixelation.  But hey, a bad day at Sand Patch beats a good day at work.  But wait .... I retired in 2002.

I like the SD38 and C39-8 in the first image... And the blue C39-8 later on...
