Eastern Railroad Discussion > P&W Passneger TrainDate: 11/27/18 10:49 P&W Passneger Train Author: pennsy3750 We had a thread a few days ago where someone inquired about the status of the Providence & Worcester's passenger fleet.
Here they are in service on Friday afternoon, with the 1pm Polar Express leaving Woonsocket. A pair of GP38-2s bracket the train. Date: 11/27/18 11:29 Re: P&W Passneger Train Author: RRBadTrack The OBS behind the unit is former Northern Pacific "Montana Club".

------------------------------------------------------- > No H in Worcester, pronounced Worster, c&e are silent too About 40 years ago, I flew to Hartford and rented a car to make a first visit to a client in Worcester. I called it 'Worchester' (with the 'r' and 'h') and was immediately corrected to 'Wuster' ("U" as in Wuss-ter). Little did I know then I would move to the Springfield MA area in '95 and heard it pronouced countless times by 'locals' as 'Wuster', not even Wooster as in Ohio. But Wuster. So, that's how I pronounce it as as 23 year long 'Masshole'. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/29/18 17:24 by BRAtkinson. Don't tell any one...but I've became a Yankees fan at age 10 sixty plus years ago! I made the mistake of wearing my Yankees cap through Logan Airport about 10 years ago. The response was 'Sir....we need to open your luggage..' after the x-ray machine. NOW you can 'take out' this fur-in-ah! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/30/18 13:50 by BRAtkinson. |
