Eastern Railroad Discussion > Question for Pennsy peopleDate: 12/01/18 13:14 Question for Pennsy people Author: WrongWayMurphy What does the 100 above the word Pennsylvania mean ?
This is on a live steam 1.6" scale boxcar, and the owner doesn't even know why the 100 is there. Truly, asking for a friend. Shane Murphy Tyler, Tex. Date: 12/01/18 13:58 Re: Question for Pennsy people Author: RichM Looks like when the right door is open, the 100,000 lb load limit is covered up, but the 100 stays visible.
That's my WAG. Date: 12/01/18 14:09 Re: Question for Pennsy people Author: ACL3042 This looks like an automobile box car. Notice at the bottom it read "When empty return to a city". The 100 would be for an auto assembly plant. A lot of auto parts box cars in the 1970's and 1980's had a number code for the assembly plants. This is my guess and I am sticking to it.

I'm so confused! Gonut |
