Eastern Railroad Discussion > Help ID former life of Switcher .... 08 December 2018Date: 12/10/18 07:55 Help ID former life of Switcher .... 08 December 2018 Author: DTWilson CBFX #1101 billed to the Mt. Storm Power Station arrived in Keyser, WV in train Q316-06 on Saturday afternoon. I looked in the usual search engines and unable to find out anything about this little blue guy.....
1) Eastbound on 17-mile grade at Bloomington, MD 2) Being taken into the west yard at Keyser. 3) Sitting alone in the west yard, within a couple of hours it will be going west in train T050 heading for Mt. Storm. Date: 12/10/18 07:58 Re: Help ID former life of Switcher .... 08 December 2018 Author: DTWilson 1) Helper crew B877-08 with the switcher, backs down to their train at Keyser, WV.
2) B877 leading coal drag T050 westbound out of the east yard at Keyser for the Mt. Storm Power Station. It is assumed that the SW will be replacing the current center cab switcher at Mt. Storm. Thank You in advance for any help on the history of this unit! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/10/18 07:59 by DTWilson. Will be interesting to see a photo of the center cab switcher it replaces, if you are able to catch. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/10/18 08:38 by boejoe. Shows as Feb71 build - if that's correct, its would be Ex Birmingham Southern, Burlington Northern, and New Orleans Public Belt, as those are the only 1971 build SW 1000s I've found.

I would guess at the Mt. Storm Power Station, it would be considered a "plant switcher"......... LOL! I knew the 1100 was up there and they also had the Center Cab, that's why I made reference that it may be replacing the Center Cab.... Tim W. |
