Along the Mohawk

A blustery Saturday today, February 16, 2019 along the fabled Mohawk River Valley in Upstate New York.

1. BNSF 7067 and 8182 lead an eastbound at Tribes Hill east of Fonda, NY
2. CSX 978 west  meets the BNSF led tanks - Tribes Hill
3. Then CSX 757 leads GECX 9406 east, nice action all in a few minutes

4. Then Amtrak #48 the Lake Shore Limited rolls east against the snow covered Mohawk Valley backdrop with AMT #180 leading the way as the train makes it's way from Chicago to Boston and New York.

5. Going away shot as they head towards Amsterdam, NY

6. Next is a delayed Amtrak 281 with the AMT 707 leading at Fonda, NY. Apparently there was a problem with a switch near Hoffmans that stabbed both 281 and the 48.

Great shots, thanks for sharing.  Winter seems to be a good time to photograph the Water Level Route, as the foilage seems to be steadily encroaching at many of the locations.
