CSX will bring interchange in, more or less daily and usually in the late afternoon. Pan Am runs out typically Mon-Fri. Schedules are not consistent but the best chance of seeing something Pan Am is to drive by in the morning and see what's in the yard. If it is quiet you can drive a few miles down 5s to Lock 10 on the canal. From the lock you get a nice view of CSX and Amtrak. NS runs south out of Schenectady along I-88. Not a lot of volume here but typically 2 or 3 daylight moves. There is a lot more to this area but you asked about Rotterdam Jct in the title.
