1) and 2) Couple of SD50's CSX recently sold to LTEX.

3) Heading for the Mountain.... Our final train of the day is E741-08 with 210 empty hopper cars coming west off the Single Main at Beall Street. They would stop at Keyser, WV to set off 2 units and 90 cars before heading to Grafton. The Power and Cars left at Keyser will be taken by a new crew to the Mettiki Mine Load out.

Thanks for stopping by.. I'm sure my detractors will have their messages and emails about more of the same boring locations and the like. What they don't understand is my locations are chosen for the safety of the 7 year old that is just learning the hobby......

Tim,
It's only boring if there are no trains in the picture.

Ignore the detractors. There are plenty of the rest of us who appreciate your posts. Sharing time with your kids along the railroad and getting them into the hobby is to be commended !  I for one will never get tired of anything you have to share from the Mountain Sub.

I thoroughly enjoy seeing the infrastructure in the towns and cities!  Don't get me wrong -- I also enjoy the spectacular country scenic shots as well. But those shots are not where the loads end up, they just pass though the scenary on the way to their final destination. And kudos for taking the kiddo along!! It's a great learning experience for him and wonderful father-son time for you!

It's been a few years (5) since I last passed through the Cumberland area but it's an interesting town.  Lots of hills all around and usually warmer than Frostburg from what I've been told.  There's nothing boring about your pictures.  I thought they were great.

You keep spending that time with the 7-year-old.  If more dad' did that we would have a lot fewer problems in this nation.  There are too many kids growing up these days without a father figure or even any adult male role models in their life.  I used to take my son quite often.  He didn't become a fan but we had a good time together.  I was also a scout leader and he now has a son in scouts and he is very active with the troop.

These photos are great as always, Tim.  Thank you so much for sharing them with us, and forget those who don't appreciate your efforts.  There are so many of us who do.

Keep posting, ignore them!   I enjoy seeing your photos from this area.  We used to go to the Cumberland area about 3 times a year, now we don't go that way very often.   I had a back injury and shot from the same areas where I live, because the ground was stable for me (flat and concrete).   Its more being able to go out and do it and have fun with family/friends then the photos.

Love your posts. My family has long Cumberland railfanning roots, dating to the 1970s, and including eight years when my railfan son was a locomotive engineer based there. We started shooting trains there when he was a toddler, and he began his own SLR days at age 9 shooting in Cumberland Narrows. I  always enjoy seeing what’s happening in “the old neighborhood.”

Please keep the images and descriptions coming.

As others have stated, I thoroughly enjoy your photos. And I especially appreciate the location choices and the context they provide. (Not to mention the superb captioning.) How there are any detractors left is beyond my comprehension. Keep up the great work, Tim.
