Where do the Chinese tariffs fit into the picture?   I read that container traffic in Long Beach/Los Angeles is off 10%.

Earlier this year the import volumes were much higher than normal as everyone wanted to get the merchandise in before the tariffs took effect so they could save money. .  Now the import volume has dropped as inventories in warehouses are much higher.

In another thread it was noted the Lunar New Year also fell in a different cycle this year compared to last year. Which affected factory output and ship loadings.
