They must be approaching 50 years old if not beyond. I thought interchange cars couldn't be over 50. Does the clock start over if they're substantially rebuilt, or will we eventually see new 89-foot boxcars?

The 86' autoparts boxcars were built from the mid 1960s to early 1980s, so the latter built ones are approaching 40 years old while many of the earlier orders retired.
