Eastern Railroad Discussion > DREI crossing Lake Decatur TodayDate: 04/09/19 15:24 DREI crossing Lake Decatur Today Author: mtzctrain I happened to be out and about during my lunch hour today and got lucky with the Decatur & Eastern Illinois RR road train departing the yard, headed east. I was able to set up and catch the train crossing Lake Decatur. 3 units lead a 39 car train.
1. Train about to cross the bridge, with the locally Iconic Staley Pump House hiding behind the tree on the right. 2&3. Crossing the lake with some nice homes in the background. Normally this train heads east in the afternoon/evening, so this was a rare catch. The sun was perfect for this, to top it off! I'll have a video to follow later. -Caleb Date: 04/09/19 18:29 Re: DREI crossing Lake Decatur Today Author: mtzctrain Here's the video I got of the train crossing the lake. The engineer put on a horn show for me while crossing the bridge.

Normally 4002 is used for the Decatur yard and interchange jobs.
