Maryland Midland Operation
Author: Grover

I recently drove to Thurmont, MD hoping to catch MMID run to Highfield.  I struck out!  A previous thread here suggested they typically run MWF, passing thru Thurmont around 5:00.
Does anyone know of changes to this routine?  After hanging out at Thurmont (4-6pm), I drove up to Highfield.  No cars on the interchange track.  All replies appreciated.

Based on some photos Jim Kleeman posted a short time ago on Facebook, you were there wayyy too late. They were westbound into Highfield yesterday just before noon and back on the move eastbound about an hour later.

The Maryland Midland is back on their warm weather schedule. Typically they run to Highfield on M-W-F. Expect them WB  in Thurmont around 10 AM, give or take an hour depending on switching required in Union Bridge.

Prior to last week they were running the UBHF and UBEG later in the day as the stone train (UBST) got the early call. Since the stone is "wet" they avoid running it at night during the winter months to avoid it freezing solid.

Just don't go next Friday April 19th, it's a holiday for the MMID and no trains will run.
