CSX engine number boards

Is there any meaning behind the two number board style seen lately on CSX engines? Some have white numbers on black background while most have black numbers on white background. It seems that the black background ones have been on the increase.

The black ones are backlit with LED lights....they work VERY well. In the greater sense we are converting all low wattage lights on the locomotives to LED...check the step lights when you see us at night....LED (well many, they are increasing)
